Brandy Kopa - State President

Winter High School


Brandy Kopa is a third year member of SkillsUSA. She has proudly served all three years as Wisconsin SkillsUSA State Officer, and is currently serving as your State President. She has spent her time in office attending school visits, coordinating leadership labs, and state conferences. This year she hopes to get involved with more school all over the state promoting SkillsUSA. Brandy is a senior at Winter High School. In her free time Brandy enjoys dancing, playing an intense game of lasertag, and skiing. When Brandy graduates high school, Brandy plans on attending the University of  North Dakota to pursue a career in aviation (pilot).

Alexander Renish - State Vice President

Green Bay Southwest High School

Alexander Renish is a senior at Green Bay Southwest High School. This is his first year as a SkillsUSA State Officer, and is currently serving as your Wisconsin State Vice President. Xander has been a part of SkillsUSA for the past three years, and serves as his local chapter's President. He was encouraged to run for state office by his advisors and has enjoyed his time in office so far. SkillsUSA has given him an excellent resume and experiences that he wouldn't have ever had if he hadn't joined as a freshman. Many of his high school memories are SkillsUSA related, from his chapter's members, travels, and competitions. When Xander isn't involved in SkillsUSA events, he enjoys playing football, basketball, wrestling, lacrosse, fishing, and music. The next year will be an excellent opportunity to help improve the state SkillsUSA organization and meet new people. In the future, Xander hopes to become a Navy SEAL. Xander is currently enlisted in the United States Navy, and after graduation will serve for 8+ years as an advanced aviation electrician. Alexander is positive that his SkillsUSA experiences will help in the Navy, and he hopes to be able to stay involved with the SkillsUSA organization as a future alumni member.

John Schuld - State Treasurer

Portage High School

My name is John Schuld. I am a senior at Portage High School in Portage, Wisconsin. This will be my fourth year in the SkillsUSA organization. I was the Treasurer for my chapter this past year and will be helping the officers this year. Over the years, I have competed at Stout regionals three times, and State three times. At Stout, I have taken 1st in Model Rocketry and a 1st in Job Demo. I have also competed in Welding and CO2 Car. At State, I have competed in Job Demo, CO2 Car, and Model Rocketry. I have yet to place at State higher than 2nd place in Job Demo.
The advisor at my school is Dan Jones and he teaches wood tech and drafting. Some of my hobbies include computer programming, model rocketry, welding, and automotive. My parents are Dan and Mary; I have one sister, Danielle, and two cats named J.D. (Just Dandy), and Tony. My goal after high school is to become a Robotic Engineer and work for NASA. I am happy to be the State Treasurer and hope to work with you every step of the way.

Sarah Kolb - State Secretary

Sun Prairie High School


Sarah Kolb is a junior at Sun Prairie High School. She has been involved with SkillsUSA for two years and is currently serving as the State Secretary. This is her first year as a state officer and she is excited to take on more responsibilities as a state officer. When she started out in SkillsUSA, she had no idea it was even an organization. She joined because her advisor asked her to become the chairperson of the Ways and Means committee. She agreed and from there on she attended more meetings and found that the organization welcomed her, allowed her voice to be heard. She is pumped to start meeting new people and getting others excited about SkillsUSA. Not only is she passionate about SkillsUSA, but she loves playing volleyball, spending time with friends and family, and being outdoors. With her busy schedule, she still maintains the ability to balance her time between SkillsUSA and friends. SkillsUSA has helped Sarah find interest in her future career as an environmental engineer. She hopes to run again next year and continue to stay involved with the SkillsUSA organization.

Ashley Wasson - State Reporter

Portage High School


Ashley Wasson is a senior at Portage High School and is serving as your SkillsUSA State Reporter this year. This is her third year being active in SkillsUSA. Ashley decided to join SkillsUSA after enjoying a drafting class in 8th grade, and wanting to learn more about the technology field. SkillsUSA has helped Ashley develop leaderships skills that she would not have otherwise obtained. Besides SkillsUSA, Ashley also enjoys skiing, snowboarding, volleyball, outdoor activities, and is very passionate about teaching snow skiing. SkillsUSA has allowed Ashley to meet many new people and have many new experiences. Ashley is looking forward to the upcoming year being a state officer. She believes that this experience will allow her to meet more people, try new things, and better the leadership skills that she will use for the rest of her life.

Kaitlin Topinka - District 4 Vice President

Portage High School


Kaitlin Topinka is a senior at Sun Prairie High School. She is currently the Districk 4 Vice President. This is her third year as an active member in SkillsUSA. She has served as the Public Relations Chair, Parliamentarian, and Vice President. Kaitlin is very excited to participate in SkillsUSA at the state level, as she would like to help struggling chapters blossom and use her experience in chapter development to assist SkillsUSA in Wisconsin. Outside of SkillsUSA, Kaitlin participates in Spanish Club and multiple choirs. She loves to sing, read, travel, and help others. Kaitlin feels that SkillsUSA is an amazing organization that she is proud to serve.

Austin Jaeger - District 5 Vice President

Sheboygan South High School

Austin Jaeger is a Junior at Sheboygan South High School. This is his first year in SkillsUSA and he currently serves as the Wisconsin State District 5 Vice President. Austin was motivated to join SkillsUSA by his metals teacher. His teacher saw at Austin had leadership qualities and asked him to join Skills.Austin ran for state office his first year. SkillsUSA has given Austin the leadership skills that are necessary in life. Austin looks forward to meeting new people and competing in Criminal Justice and Firefighting. Outside of SkillsUSA, Austin is the vice president of the Sheboygan Law Enforcement Explorers, he enjoys landscaping and working with cars.

Taylor Swanson - District 6 Vice President

Baraboo High School

Taylor Swanson is a senior at Baraboo High School. He will be going into his third year of Skills USA and his first year in State Office, serving as your District 6 Vice President.Ever since joining Skills USA, Taylor has become the best leader by continuously learning and improving. Aside from Skills USA he enjoys playing sports and meeting new people. He is very out going. When Taylor first found out about Skills USA, he talked his best friend into joining, and after the first meeting they were hooked and never stopped attending the chapter meetings and are learning so much about the organization. After his last year of high school, Taylor will be attending college for a bachelor's degree.
