Cost: students ($30) | advisors ($30) – Lunch is provided on Friday.

  • No on-site substitutions. All substitute names must be emailed to the SkillsUSA WI State Office by Friday, February 17th, 2023.
  • Be sure to allow ample time for travel, weather, parking, and getting to the check-in location.
  • A photo release form is required to be filled out and turned in at check-in by every student, advisor, and observer in attendance. 
  • A proof of training verification form is required to be filled out and turned in at check-in by every student who is competing in Additive Manufacturing Technology, Carpentry, Cabinetmaking, Electrical Construction Wiring, Electronic Technology, Power Equipment Technology, Precision Machining Technology, Urban Search & Rescue, and Welding.
  • Students in the following competitions need to bring safety glasses: Automotive Service Technology, Carpentry, Cabinetmaking, Electrical Construction Wiring, Electronics Technology, Power Equipment Technology, Precision Machining Technology, Team Engineering Challenge, Urban Search & Rescue, and Welding.
  • All students must bring a copy of their resume for each competition they are in.

  • Students can register for one skilled, one leadership, and one occupational as long as the contest times do not conflict. If you are unsure if they will conflict, please contact us beforehand.
  • The only Friday competitions that allow for more than one Friday competition include Facilithon, Welding Fabrication, and Welding Sculpture.
  • Be sure to review the national technical standards, as well as the notes below, to know what supplies need to be brought to the competition.

Additive Manufacturing (HS) 8 teams This is a 2-day (Thursday & Friday) competition where students design their part on Thursday, it gets manufactured overnight, and then it is tested on Friday. Bring a computer with CAD software.

Welding Sculpture (MS/HS) 8 (MS) | 8 (HS) Bring your sculpture. There will be a presentation and an interview.
  • BUS PARKING
  • Busses are not allowed to park in the UW-Stout parking lots and need to find street parking. If they were to park in a lot, they will risk a fine and/or being towed.
  • If you are arriving by bus, the bus drop-off is at Heritage Hall (415 10th Avenue E., Menomonie, WI).
  • If being dropped off at Heritage Hall by bus, an adult advisor must get off the bus with the students so that they are always supervised.  
  • Before getting off the bus, double-check that everyone has all of their needed items with them.
  • Be sure that the bus driver is prepared to possibly pay for their street parking with enough change and a card.

  • CAR/VAN PARKING
  • If you are arriving by car/van, hourly parking is available in lot 18 on campus (502 10th Avenue E., Menomonie, WI) and in lot 27 on campus (1000 Broadway Street S., Menomonie, WI).
  • Be sure to park in the designated area (“pay by plate parking only”) and that your license plate is visible to the drive lane.
  • The cost is $1.00 per hour and the pay stations accept cash or card.
  • Have your license plate number handy at the pay station as you’ll need to enter it.

Thursday check-in will take place between 3:00-3:45 p.m. at Heritage Hall (110).
