Registration for contests and competitions takes place on the national registration site.
All schools are required to have at least one registered advisor/chaperone present with them on-site at the competition.

To help students prepare for competitions, advisors have access to the national technical standards documents for all competitions that advance to the national level. Technical standards documents can be accessed through the advisor’s professional membership benefits on the Absorb portal and then shared with the students. For competitions that are state-only, those technical standards can be found at the bottom of this page.

Click here to read the descriptions of SkillsUSA competitions. District, regional, and state competitions will be scaled-down versions, due to timing limitations, of what you read as the competition description and technical standards document as they are written for the multiple-day competition at the national level.

Students MUST provide computers if needed for contests!!!

Watertown School District has gone completely 1-to-1 Chromebooks!!! We no longer have any computer labs with towers available for anyone to use. So for those contests competing with computers, all schools will need to bring their own towers or laptops for students to use to compete with.  (i.e., Technical Drafting – we no longer have a computer lab or available computers for students coming to compete from other schools to use here).

All students should bring a copy of their resume.

Welding Fabrication (HS) – FULL Team of 3   10   This event is now FULL.  We are partnering with Bobcat in Johnson Creek for this contest at Districts. They will be supplying a print and material for one of their sub-assemblies they already make on an existing product!!! More details/timeline will come out soon, but for now. We will need to make arrangements for pick-up of precut materials for the sub-assembly. Bobcat might do a whirlwind tour with their logo truck to deliver but not sure they will get everywhere. So note we may need to work this out. We will probably offer a zoom teams call with students and tech chair and bobcat weld engineers a day or 2 after registration closes for Q&A. Final welded product will be brought to districts and loaded on a trailer outside the main school entrance. When Opening Ceremonies ends – students will be bussed down to the Bobcat plant for their contest where they will get their weldment 3d scanned and scored, along with a short presentation judging, along with seeing where their product goes on an existing Bobcat equipment… Students will return by closing/awards ceremony to WHS by school bus.
