Registration & Fees

All registration must be completed through the SkillsUSA national registration site.
Each participating school is required to have at least one registered advisor or chaperone on-site during the event.

Registration Opens: October 30, 2026
Registration Closes: November 18, 2026
Note: Some contests may close early if capacity is reached.

Please Note:
District, regional, and state-level competitions are condensed versions of the national contests due to time constraints. Technical standards and descriptions are based on multi-day national formats.

What to Bring

All student competitors must bring:

A printed resume
Any required safety equipment outlined in the technical standards for their contest

Please Note: Entry limits are in place to ensure fair participation across schools. These may be adjusted closer to the registration deadline if space allows.

Architectural Drafting	individual	NA	24		School desktops will have the Autodesk suite. If student needs to use another program, students will need to bring their own laptop with CAD software of their choice installed. Make sure that you test the laptops to make sure that the software will work off of the school network. All students should also bring a resume.
Cabinetmaking	individual	NA	24		Students will need to bring safety glasses and a pencil
Carpentry	individual	NA	15		Students will need to bring safety glasses and a pencil
Facilithon – Leadership in Facility Management (HS)	individual	NA	10		Click to learn more about the Facilithon
Job Interview	individual	15	15	5 HS/ 5 MS	Students will participate in a mock interview. They should bring a pen/pencil and three copies of their resume. The contest will cover some of the technical standards.
Power Equipment Technology	individual	NA	24		Students will need to bring safety glasses.
Related Technical Math	individual	NA	40		Student will take a test with applied math problems. Students should bring a calculator and pencils.
Robotics: Urban Search and Rescue	team of 2	10	10		Students will bring their completed robot, resumes, and engineering notebook. They would complete tasks similar to the state competition.
Team Engineering Challenge	team of 3	10	10	3 HS/3 MS	A team of three students will work together to complete a task. The project will use simple materials. All of the materials will be provided for the group. Whichever group works best to solve the problem wins. Each member of the group should also bring a resume.
Technical Drafting	individual	NA	24		School desktops will have the Autodesk suite. If student needs to use another program, students will need to bring their own laptop with CAD software of their choice installed. Make sure that you test the laptops to make sure that the software will work off of the school network. They will be given a print with a series of parts. They will need to create a 3D model of the parts and then convert that model into 2D prints. The prints may include; orthographic, isometric, detailed, and assembly views. The prints should be fully dimensioned using ANSI standards. All students should also bring a resume.
Welding	individual	NA	22	5	The students will be taking a written test on welding fundamentals. They will also be producing a finished weldment using the SMAW and GMAW processes. The print will be fairly simple. The written test may contain some print reading questions. We have Millermatic 255. Students will draw numbers to see what machine they get. I will work to make sure that they know how to run everything. All students should also bring a resume, wear boots, and have their own safety glasses. Other PPE’s will be provided but each student can bring their own: welding hood, jacket, and gloves.
Welding Sculpture	individual	10	30		The student will need to create a welding sculpture prior to the competition. The student will bring the sculpture along with detailed plans and material list. Student will be interviewed by the judges.
