Regional Competitions 

SkillsUSA Wisconsin Regional Competitions give students the chance to build on their experience from District Events and prepare for the State Leadership and Skills Conference (SLSC). These events provide a more advanced, competitive environment that aligns closely with official SkillsUSA Technical Standards.

Held in January and February at technical colleges and universities across the state, Regionals offer hands-on, high-quality competitions hosted in partnership with participating campuses.

Competitions are typically coordinated and judged by college instructors, industry professionals, SkillsUSA advisors, and volunteers — giving students valuable opportunities to showcase their skills, network with professionals, and gain real-world experience.

Registration Information

Registration includes lunch.

  • All contest registrations must be completed through the SkillsUSA national registration site.
  • Registration Deadlines: Check the closing date for each regional event. Some contests may fill before the official registration deadline.
  • Registration Fees:
    • Student Competitors: $40.00
    • Student Observers: $25.00
    • Advisors/Chaperones: $15.00

Additional Details

  • Schools may attend any regional competition; you do not need to reside within that region.
  • Schools are welcome to attend more than one regional event.
  • Each school must have at least one registered advisor or chaperone in attendance.

🍽 Meals & Dietary Needs

A meal is provided for all registered student competitors, observers, and advisors/chaperones.

Please be sure to indicate any dietary restrictions or special meal needs during registration.

🧰 What to Bring

All participants should bring:

  • A resume
  • Any required safety equipment and competition dress outlined in the SkillsUSA Technical Standards
  • Any additional materials required for their specific competition

No uploads resume are required for regional competitions. All required materials will be handled on site unless you receive specific instructions requesting something to be submitted in advance.

Be sure to review the contest-specific information on the event website for any additional requirements.

⚠️ Multiple Contest Participation

At some regional events, students may be able to participate in more than one contest. When available, this option will be noted on the specific regional event page.

Students may participate in multiple contests as long as:

  • Each contest is in a different category (Occupational, Technical, or Leadership)
  • The competition schedules do not overlap.  Advisors are responsible for helping students coordinate their competition schedules and ensuring they can successfully participate in each event.

Please note that some competitions may take the entire day, making participation in multiple contests impractical.

Annual Theme

The SkillsUSA logo for the 2026–2027 "Level Up" initiative, featuring bold blue and red text with an upward arrow.

The SkillsUSA competition theme for the 2026–27 school year is:

SkillsUSA: Level UP

The theme will be used for the 2027 SkillsUSA Chapter Display, Prepared Speech, and Promotional Bulletin Board competitions.

The theme is designed to inspire the outstanding work taking place in SkillsUSA chapters throughout the school year as students develop the Personal, Workplace, and Technical Skills of the SkillsUSA Framework.
